JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay said he has spoken personally with Boeing executives, who are looking for over 400 acres of land — which the city owns near Lambert Airport — to locate a new production facility.
Slay and St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley — who said he had previously worked at Boeing’s St. Louis facility — traveled to Jefferson City on Tuesday to meet with lawmakers and urge them to back a plan to expand four existing tax credit programs by $150 million annually for aerospace projects. The tax credits would be part of a larger incentive package the state hopes to present to Boeing next week to lure the aircraft manufacturer to pick St. Louis for its new 777X production line.
