JEFFERSON CITY, MO. – On the same day House Speaker John Diehl announced his resignation, Katie Graham, the 19-year-old freshman from Missouri Southern State University who had exchanged innuendo-laced texts with him released a statement of her own thanking her friends and family who have reached out to her for their support, and expressing support for her school’s program.

“This is extremely difficult for both families, and I hope everyone can begin the healing process. I strongly support the Missouri Capitol internship program, and hope it remains a positive experience for the students in the future,” she said.
