Democratic U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill said Thursday morning she will not support Nevada Democrat Harry Reid for election as Senate Minority Leader.

“Yesterday, I met with Harry Reid and told him I would not be supporting him for Minority Leader. I heard the voters of Missouri loud and clear. They want change in Washington. Common sense tells me that begins with changes in leadership,” McCaskill said in a statement.

Despite the opposition of McCaskill and likely a handful of Red State Democrats, Reid is running unopposed for the post after the party lost control of the Senate last week.
