— Continuing wave of support from establishment GOP leaders, former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton announced he too has endorsed Ann Wagner for Congress.
“Ann Wagner is a principled conservative who will shake things up in Washington with her hard-charging, no-nonsense approach to problem solving,” said Bolton in a statement on Thursday. “She has defeated liberals for decades as a party leader and activist and now, for the first time, it is time for all conservatives to stand up for Ann and send her to Congress.”
“Her deep roots in the district and long history in the grassroots movement have earned her the respect of countless activists in Missouri and nationwide,” he said.
Wagner, lauding Bolton as a defender of American freedom, said she was proud to have the endorsement.
“To have Ambassador Bolton’s support is truly humbling and a clear indication that our campaign for Congress is taking hold among the conservative scholars around the country,” she said. “It is time to get serious about the problems we face in this country – not just play political games.”
U.S. Senator Roy Blunt sent out a direct-mail piece for Wagner this week, and later this month, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will fundraise for her. Additionally, Wagner has received campaign funds from several member of Missouri’s congressional delegation.
