Just over one-third of Missouri’s eligible voters are expected to show up when voters head to the polls for the midterm election on Tuesday.

With no heated statewide election and only a handful of competitive local races throughout the state, Missouri’s local election authorities reported to Secretary of State Jason Kander their expectation that only 1.6 million of Missouri’s more than 4 million eligible voters will make it out to vote.

The rest — nearly two-thirds of eligible voters — are expected to sit out on Tuesday.
