Republican gubernatorial candidate Catherine Hanaway announced a list of supporters in all 114 counties and the City of St. Louis, a “grassroots team” she hopes will help build early support in all parts of the state.
In a news release Tuesday, Hanaway’s campaign said since she announced her candidacy in February, the former Speaker of the House turned U.S. Attorney visited to events in more than 40 counties.
“Since the beginning, I have said this campaign would be heavily focused on grassroots,” said Hanaway. “Our team is comprised of the best grassroots warriors from every corner of the state who are committed to winning back the Governor’s mansion in 2016.”
Her list of county leaders includes a handful of state lawmakers, as well as former Missouri Republican Party Chairman David Cole.
In addition to Hanaway, Republican State Auditor Tom Schweich and U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer have also indicated their interest in the Republican nomination to likely challenge Democratic Attorney General Chris Koster in 2016.
