JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – As former U.S. Attorney General and Missouri Governor John Ashcroft might have sung, leven-year old Clark the Eagle soared over the Missouri House chamber Wednesday morning.

This year is the seventh anniversary of the bald eagle, the official bird of the United States of America, being taken off the endangered species list.
