Following session, Jones launches statewide tour (Map)

JOPLIN, Mo. — Just more than a week after lawmakers left Jefferson City after wrapping up the first regular session of the 97th General Assembly, House Speaker Tim Jones is set to launch a statewide campaign tour touting his agenda.

“I will be touring the state to discuss the accomplishments of the 2013 legislative session and priorities for next session,” the Eureka Republican said in a statement.

Jones, who has made no secret his intent to seek statewide office in 2016, will launch the tour in southwest Missouri on Tuesday morning. The weeklong tour inclues seven stops in the conservative battleground of southwest Missouri, as well as stops in mid-Missouri, southeast Missouri, and his hometown in St. Louis.
