Jindal: Obama reelect would be ‘four more years of on the job training’

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Republican Party’s annual Lincoln Day’s event kicked off Friday night with speeches from party leaders and national figures, most notably Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.

Jindal — a rising figure in the national party — spoke mostly about suggestions for state policies, but most harshly about President Obama, and his performance during the gulf oil spill.

“I saw them up close. One of the things I saw first hand is he is certainly a smart man,” Jindal said, “but clearly he has never worked in the private sector.”

Jindal, who endorsed Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s presidential campaign last year, said he supports someone for president with private sector business experience.

“We cannot afford four more years of on the job training for President Obama,” he said.

Since Perry dropped out of the race, Jindal has not endorsed another candidate for president. But whoever the nominee is, he said Missouri has an important role to play.

“It really may come down to Missouri to make sure president Obama is a one term president,” he said.
