(SPRINGFIELD, Mo.) Vice President Joe Biden is set to campaign for Robin Carnahan in Missouri this fall.
A spokesman for the Carnahan campaign confirmed with PoliticMo today that “the Vice Preisident will be coming to Missouri for a fundraiser for Robin,” but was unable to confirm any details of the event.
Congressman Roy Blunt’s campaign, who really announced the event, said as they understood it, it would be taking place in Springfield in early October.
“While he’s here, we hope Joe Biden at least mentions Robin Carnahan’s name and goes into great detail about the extreme liberal positions she shares with Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. The Carnahan campaign has understandably not announced this event to the public, but we thought it was important to make Missourians aware of this significant event,” said Blunt spokesman Rich Chrismer.
Earlier this summer, President Barack Obama made a stop in the state for Carnahan, and Blunt had a fundraiser with former Bush-aide Karl Rove.
Of Missouri’s U.S. Senate election, Obama said in Kansas City, “Missourians have a choice between the policies that got us in this mess in the first place, and the policies that got us out.”
Spokesman for the RNC Bill Riggs said,“Joe Biden knows that Robin Carnahan’s blind support for the Obama agenda is essential to forcing through more massive government spending, higher taxes, and job-killing regulation.”
